Abstrakt

The consumer information is an activity of governmental and nongovernmental institutions’, as well as so-called professionals (salesmen, service providers, advertisers). This activity focuses on transmission of knowledge concerning protection of rights connected with purchasing products and services, and the possibility of consumers’ execution these rights. The article presents development of consumer information system in Poland after 1991, in the context of consumers’ right to information, modern system of consumer information in the European Union, as well as the role of governmental units and NGOs in this system. The article is accompanied by information concerning sources and consumer surveys.
