"Przegląd Biblioteczny" is the oldest Polish library science journal, published continuously since 1927. It is a leading scientific periodical covering all major trends in Polish and international library science, book studies, bibliography, and scientific information. It appears regularly on a quarterly basis and has a website providing comprehensive information about the journal.
Articles published in it are among the most frequently cited in the fields of library science, bibliology, and librarianship. Its content is indexed in Polish and international bibliographic databases, including: Central European Journal in Social Sciences and Humanities (CEJSH), EBSCO (LISTA), Google Scholar, WorldCat, Polish Bibliological Bibliography (PBB), Polish Scientific Bibliography (PBN), ICI Journal Master List. The journal is registered in the ERIH PLUS reference database. "Przegląd Biblioteczny" is included on the list of journals evaluated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, meaning that a scientific article published in it currently receives 70 points. Since its inception in 1927, "Przegląd Biblioteczny" has gathered around it the most outstanding Polish library scholars and library practitioners.
The journal's prestige is also evidenced by the participation of distinguished international specialists on the Editorial Board, as well as adherence to the double-blind peer review principle in the evaluation and qualification of articles for publication by Polish and foreign reviewers.
Each issue has a fixed internal structure: original scientific articles, articles from abroad, from research workshops, review articles, reviews of domestic and foreign literature, Polish Librarians’ Association (SBP) life, chronicle of scientific life, and memoirs.
Articles published in it are in Polish or English.
All articles in "Przegląd Biblioteczny" are equipped with English-language abstracts (or Polish-language in the case of articles published in English), prepared in accordance with the criteria specified in the Guidelines for Authors.
