Abstrakt
Public libraries face challenge of adapting their activity to the needs of an information society. Former rules of functioning are confronted with the need of more flexible services. Regarding dynamic development of electronic communication, many questions emerge, concerning the idea of a modern library answering the needs of “a digital client”. The article focuses on creation and monitoring of public libraries’ image, in particular in virtuality. The possibilities of popular interactive Web 2.0 tools (like blogs, forums, online games) in library promotion have been presented and confronted with the users’ opinions and expectations. The Library 2.0 project is also described.
